Portable Overbed Table

A rolling table built to work over a bed or a chair. The base is a C-shaped steel frame, open on one side, which is the detail that makes it useful: the open side slides underneath a bed frame or a recliner so the top can reach right across your lap instead of stopping at the edge of the mattress.

The top is a wipe-clean laminate board with a raised lip around the edge, mounted on a hinge with a knob at the column. Loosen it and the top tilts to an angle for reading or working on; lock it flat for a meal, a drink or a laptop. Height adjusts independently through a second hand-turned knob on the column, so both settings are made without tools.

Four castors let it be moved into position one-handed and rolled aside when it is not needed. The frame is powder-coated steel in grey, so it wipes down and resists the damp of a bedside. Suitable for eating, reading, working, or holding things within reach of someone spending time in bed or a chair. Lock the height knob firmly before loading the top.
